Tina Jeranko is a performance artist coming from Slovenia currently based between Helsinki, FI, and Maribor, SI. Parallel to performing she shares her practice in the form of workshops on voice, physical, and social coordination within space, accessible for more and less performing bodies. Her research taps into voice and its concept through the field of translation between thought, verbal language, emotional language, and physical language in a given social, cultural, and political space. Looking into the role of repeated and habitual actions in shaping bodies and worlds, she is attracted by the workings of inner speech. Consisting of choreographed speech performances and workshops, her work is interdependent on the environment and its field of information. Built on the encounter with another and in relation to the other, it often results in a form of group play, while dynamics and paths created among different individuals, herself, and the surroundings create somatic sensations within her, which she uses as the source of her making. In this process, she takes on a role that shifts between a maker, a performer, a spectator, a guide, and a facilitator.

After finishing her bachelor studies in Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague (The Netherlands) in 2018, she has been active in the Dutch performance art scene, where she exhibited, performed, and collaborated with other artists at various venues in The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Tilburg. Over the years she has been working with Maria Pask, Hanna Ijäs, Anna Moreno, Emma Johansson, Saulé Noreikaité, Maja Kalafatić, Amanda Hunt, Onur Tayranoğlu, Tangmo, Ladapha Sophonkunkit, and others, with whom she performed, performed for and co-created performances, workshops, and a residency. Exploring the relationship between performer and spectator, and that of space and stage, she gave numerous workshops and courses at KABK, The Hague, FKA Witte de With, Rotterdam, and the most recent one (2022) in the Gallery of Contemporary Art Celje (Slovenia), where she has been part of the exhibition ‘Performativity, Interaction, Process’ with a task-oriented work dependent on audiences’ participation.

Currently working towards a Master's in Live Art and Performance Studies at UniArts Helsinki (Finland), Jeranko carried out a durational performance focused on garment performativity in relation to identity construction by weekly dressing up.
As one of the outcomes of this process, a speech performance 'today it suits me' was born, a dense assembly of voices that was performed by the artist at the end of August 2023 at Liike, a store with contemporary Finnish fashion from local designers, in Helsinki. A written thesis about this artistic project is in the making at the moment.
